Juma and Elinah Phiri live in Chinsapo, Malawi, with their 5 children. Though they have few worldy possesions, this family gives thanks in all situations. They live small house constructed from iron sheets leaning against one another. Juma works as a pastor and also as a plumber. Elinah stays at home and takes care of their 5 children. They are able to eat 3 meals a day consisting of nsima, vegetables and small fish. As a family they love to spend time visiting with other church members. The children love to be outside and active playing netball, soccer and wrestling. Althought Juma and Elinah were not able to finish highschool themselves; they are working hard to make sure their children can get an education. The two oldest girls, Alinafe and Evelin both attend school and enjoy studying languages. They would like to be nurses when they grow up. They are also thankful to be a part of The Chisomo Idea community where they have support for their social, spiritual, intellectual and physical needs.
